Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Why did you change your pen name to Sarah Marshal King?
A. I wanted to honor my late mother by using her maiden name. Every name in my pen name is based on a related member of the family or an ancestor. Our King name goes back to at least the 1600s in England. I have several great grandmothers with the name Sarah and Marshal is based on William Marshal I, the First Earl of Pembroke. There are many other names I could have chosen, but I think the name has a special gothic ring to it for some reason. It just clicks for me.
Q. Is it true that your pen name was once Boo Rhodes and you went by Spooky Boo Rhodes on your podcast?
A. Yes, this is true. I felt the names I used at the time were geared more for a younger audience and since I want to write more graphic horror with a bit of gothic romance I felt it wasn’t appropriate to draw in that crowd to the name. My name has been Boo since I was a baby. There’s a funny story behind that and if you’re ever around when I’m chatting live, be sure to ask.
Q. May I ask you a question?
A. Please ask your question in the comments in this post and it might be answered there. Due to the amount of questions, not all questions will be answered. I could sit and answer questions all day, but then I wouldn’t get any writing done.
